Fastest car in the world the 2022 ranking

Let's break up who can achieve this record.

When the prestige of supercars is no longer enough, here are the hypercars; Lamborghini, Ferrari and many others are the very prestigious car manufacturers that compete with each other to achieve the only goal that really matters in this overtaking race: top speed .

In this article we will discuss what are currently the fastest cars in the world, those for which it is forbidden to go below 350 km / h, and which in their price list, with the most "economical" model, starts from a million of euros .

Fastest car in the world the 2022 ranking

Bugatti Chiron:

  • worthy heir to the legendary Bugatti Veyron
  • Another Bugatti among the fastest cars ever. Just presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Bugatti Chiron is already the undisputed heir to the now discontinued Bugatti Veyron. Present on the market with an incredible number of 500 units, no other production car produced in this quantity boasts similar performance: 1,500 horsepower, 1,600 Nm of maximum torque, acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 2.5 seconds and a top speed, but electronically limited, of 420 km / h. Its cost is around 2.4 million euros, obviously excluding taxes.
  • The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, recently set an extraordinary record with an astronomical speed of over 490 km / h, is the fastest car in the world! Although this feat has not been homologated and has been achieved not through a production model but rather through a prototype, this feat is still historic.

Hennessey Venom F5:

The American company Hennessey, which specializes in vehicle preparation and tuning, wants to bring its Venom F5 to a speed of 485 km / h. Thanks to the 6.6-liter aluminum twin-turbo V8 engine block, the Hennessey Venom F5 can develop a maximum of 1,842 hp and a torque of up to 1,617 Nm. The chassis and body made of carbon fiber offer an excellent weight / weight ratio. power, thanks to which it reaches incredible performance: the Venom F5 accelerates from 0 to 300 km / h in less than 10 seconds. Only 24 units will be produced.

SSC Tuatara:

The worthy descendant of SSC Aero is a record thirsty machine! It had to wait a few years to compete with other cars, as the Tuatara concept was introduced by Shelby Super Cars in 2011. Its goal is to exceed 300 mph, or 483 km / h. With its 5.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, it can go up to 8,800 rpm and develop a maximum of 1,774 hp. For this the Tuatara is already considered one of the fastest cars in the world. The production of this gem is limited to 100 pieces. For the record, the name Tuatara derives from Sphenodon, a reptile endemic to New Zealand that the Maori consider a divine messenger.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport:

Thanks to its incredible power, with 1,200 hp from its 8,000-liter 16-cylinder W engine, it was the first mass-produced car capable of reaching 415 km / h, although there are also those who confirm that during the tests it is reached 434 km / h. But in addition to its maximum speed, the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport amazes with its burning acceleration: 0-100 km in just 2.5 seconds, 0-200 km in 7.3 seconds and 0-300 km in 16.7 seconds! Today this car is no longer for sale. Replaced by the Bugatti Chiron, the Veyron price list is between 1.4 and 1.58 million euros, with the Grand Sport version.

Koenigsegg One1:

  1. Defining this hypercar as a racing car sounds anachronistic and definitively reductive.
  2. Perhaps because with its 1,341 hp, which come from a V8 5.0 TwinTurbo engine, it reaches 400 km / h in just 20 seconds, or perhaps because its declared maximum speed is 450 km per hour! This Swedish to date has achieved the undisputed record of fastest car in the world.
  3. With its 7 existing examples in the world, it sold out even before its first exhibition at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014. With these characteristics, its price obviously could not fail to be in an astronomical figure; 5 and a half million euros!

Ruf CTR3:

This extraordinary racing car with a sophisticated and refined design is born from a Porsche base and features a rear-center, 6-cylinder Boxer engine on board; maximum power: 700 horsepower at 7,000 rpm.

The declared maximum speed appears to be 380 km / h. The car body is characterized by a steel frame with rear tubular reinforcement and roll cage cage in the passenger compartment. The body is made of steel, aluminum and carbon fiber, for a total weight of 1,400 kg, not exactly a featherweight for the category. The price? We are between 380,000 euros, excluding taxes.

Pagani Huayra:

Owned by the Italian-Argentine Horacio Pagani and based in the Bel Paese in San Cesario sul Panaro, this beautiful hypercar has a V12 twin turbo engine from Mercedes on board. It produces 730 hp and manages.
